Buttermilk Banana Bread

Breads, muffins, cupcakes, and other baked goods are some of my favorite things to cook. Banana bread in particular has become a staple recipe for me and I’ve tried many variants of this snack. Banana bread is moist and sweet but relatively healthy and a quick and simple bit of mixing can make a couple of loaves or a few tins of muffins. I’ve found the following recipe to be easy to make, and it creates a beautiful loaf that cooks much more evenly in my oven than other methods.

What You’ll Need:

2 cups white sugar

1 cup of butter, softened

3 cups of flour

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. kosher salt

4 large eggs

2 tsp. vanilla extract

1/2 cup buttermilk

About 8 mashed bananas

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and prepare two loaf pans. Start by creaming together the butter and sugar in a large bowl.

Separately mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a smaller bowl.

Slowly add the eggs to your butter and sugar mix, one at a time. Beat in the vanilla, buttermilk, and bananas. Gradually mix in the flour and stir until just combined.

Divide the batter between your loaf pans and bake for one hour.

Serve warm or cool, with butter or without, at any time!
