My New Book is Here!

IT’S HERE FOLKS!!

How unbelievable is this? I’m holding book No. 2 in my hands. This one was a labor of love, and I really hope you enjoy it. I spent a lot of time agonizing over it, trying to define what it is to be a modern homesteader and what people really need to know before they make the leap. It’s got a little bit of everything from my experiences out here. There’s a lovely guest chapter about raising kids by the wonderful Julie Letowski (www.folk-ware.com/missives) and there’s some fantastic photos by my friend Kate (www.themoderndaysettler.com) - but not the Lucky photos she took over several hours while he kept jumping off my shoulder, because goats will be goats. It’s possibly influenced by the fact much of my writing of it was doing during a -20s for weeks cold snap while tending a woodstove. It’s the hardships and the joys and hopefully some of the things you would not have thought of.
